Ant North started his culinary career at the Michelin Star Connaught Hotel in Mayfair, London. Combined with the Specialised Chef’s Course, his 5 years there gave him a good grounding in the foundation of cookery. His next placement was 2 years at another Michelin Star restaurant Le Soufflé, where Ant worked with chefs from different cultures expanding his repertoire so that when taking up Head Chef positions in later restaurants, he was able to create menus from Asian Fusion to French to Modern British or an innovative taste-bud stimulating combination that gained him numerous national press reviews.

Moving to New Zealand Anthony soon found himself Head Chef at luxury lodge Wharekauhau. Settling into life in the Wairarapa with his kiwi wife and young family, Anthony moved on to Wakelin House where over 5 years he built up a reputation for unique dishes, bursting with local flavour and the odd foraged find.
